Pacific View Baptist Church called Br. Larry D. Hudson as pastor in March of 1996.
He has been in the ministry since 1973. He graduated from New Orleans Baptist
Theological Seminary and served in different church staff positions in various
locations like Louisiana, Missouri, New York, Wisconsin, and now California.
He came to serve as pastor after serving as an Associate Pastor of Education &
Youth for 10 years at Buena Vista Baptist Church in Vista, California.
Br. Larry D Hudson has been blessed to minister in northern San Diego County since 1985. He has also during these years volunteered to serve with the San Diego Southern Baptist Association and the California Southern Baptist Convention in various ministries. Before coming to San Diego he married Vivian R. Hudson from Florida and here they raised their two children, Timothy and Sara. Throughout his Christian pilgrimage his favorite verses has been 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" and Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I lived by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Pastor Evan Lauer
After doing youth ministry in La Mesa from 1985-1991, Evan and Kelley moved to
Mill Valley, Ca. where he attended Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Evan
graduated in 1993 with an Master of Divinity Degree and felt called to move back to San Diego and plant a church. While in Seminary, Evan and Kelley were involved with a church plant that started another church and
this proved to be invaluable experience for their future church plant.
In 1995 Evan and Kelley moved back to San Diego and started the process of planting a church in Pacific Beach. God blessed them with 13 years of great ministry in a surfing community seeing many people come to Christ and be baptized in the ocean. Evan and his family are very excited to be back in a great surfing community like Encinitas. They have five children, Zachary- 14, Benjamin - 11, Elijah - 9, Micah- 4 and LilyAnna - 3.Kelley grew up in Encinitas and attended Pacific View in high school and was even baptized there. She also went to Oak Crest Middle Schoool and graduated from San Dieguito Academy.
With God's help, Evan hopes to bring in younger families to Pacific View as we all look to the future of this great church.

Sharon became a member of Pacific View Baptist and was baptized on November 18, 1956. Her mother Retta McMichael is one of two remaining charter members. Sharon became the Secretary in February of 1999. She is married with three grown children and five grandchildren. She also serves the Lord in other areas such as the Fellowship committee and Women's Ministries. One of her favorite songs is "He Keeps Me Singing" and one of many favorite scriptures is Romans 10:13, "For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
